Filling in the French income tax forms was giving me headaches. It is not that difficult, but it was not clear what I should do with the money I earned in the UK last year. I had the right form (n°2047), but where was I suppose to put these. I had something to do in the tax office anyway, so I went to ask someone about my dilema. It was very brief and went something like that:
Man: When did you come back?
Me: Last August
Man: 2010?
Me: Yes
Man: How long had you been in the UK?
Me: Since 2006
Man: You were resident there then. You don’t need that form. You don’t have to declare your foreign income for the first year you came back. You only need to declare your French income.
Couldn’t believe it. I wasted several hours trying to work it out, looking on their website, and now, someone tells me I don’t need to declare it…
Filling in the form should be quick now.
