From 20th to the 24th of July, we were in Gap, in the Southern Alps for the annual Reformed Baptist Family conference. Each year, this conference gathers Reformed Baptist churches from Franc and Switzerland. It has changed location over the years and has been slowly growing. But the vast majority of people represented were the Swiss as there are only a handful reformed Baptist churches in France.
It was good to be back there. last time we attended was 11 years ago, before we had children.
The fellowship was good. We had a conference each morning on various themes and a gospel sermon each night. The children had a great time and want to go back. Gap seems to be a nice place, but it was hot, too hot. The place where the conference was held was OK, not the most comfortable, but we had a good welcome and there was plenty of space for the children to run around.
Some old friends from the GBU live in Gap. We went to see them one evening. It was the first time in about 15 years. Another couple from my GBU years live nearby but were away that week.
Everybody was sad to leave after 5 days together, but we had to go. pray for this camp. It is an important event for those of us of Reformed Baptist convictions who can’t attend a Reformed Baptist Church.
