The stranger (Camus): I am rather enjoying it.

[amazon_link id=”2070360024″ target=”_blank” locale=”UK” container=”” container_class=”” ]L'Etranger (Folio)[/amazon_link]I recently saw on the Gospel coalition website that they were starting a series of posts on reading classics of literature. They are starting with Camus’ The stranger”. It looked interesting and since I have never read it, I thought it would be a god idea to read along. Then my Friend Alan wrote on his blog that he was starting it. this further motivated me and I bought my copy yesterday. It is still time to take up the challenge. It is actually a fairly short novel and the pace is quite slow: 1 chapter a week. You can catch up by following the links:

An evening at the football: En avant Guingamp against Le Mans

A few weeks ago, Jean-Baptiste and myself were given tickets for tonight’s match against Le Mans. It was good. Guingamp played well, but we lost count of the missed opportunities. The last few minutes of extra times were especially exciting, but they missed each time. Final result was Guingamp 1-1 Le Mans.

CNEF ministers’ fellowship

The local CNEF ministers’ fellowship took place in Guingamp on Monday. It is only the second meeting we’ve had, and my first opportunity to attend. There were 8 of us, representing 6 churches for te whole département (that shows the extent of the need: there are almost 600 000 people in the Côtes d’armor, and most churches were present at this meeting). There was two people missing.

It was good to meet with my pentecostal brothers. The meeting was interesting, with update on the CNEF and the churches represented. I had to go before the end. The meeting was led by a pentecostal minister from St-Brieuc who happens to be also a member of the board leading the CNEF. He is also the man in charge of communication and relationship with the media. what made the meeting great was the way it was led, graciously, but with a firm hand so that we would go through all the points in the agenda.

I am looking forward to the next one.
