French people and their Bread.

The following infographic was published in “Le Télégramme”, dated 7th March 2012. It’s quite interesting and explains why there are still so many bakeries around. 69 % of French people would rather buy their bread in a bakery. When you consider the price of bread here, it is admirable.

  1. One of our lads is training to be a boulanger. His father delivers flour, frozen bread dough and frozen viennoiseries to boulangeries. The boulangerie is still very important.

  2. Indeed. When I worked in Leclerc, there was a girl whose boyfriend was a boulanger (baker). He was never without work. If he had enough of a boss, he could just walk out and was certain to find work without any problems. That was almost ten years ago, but I am sure it is still valid.
