I started reading through Calvin’s Institutes last June. So far, I have read books 1 to 3. After a month break, I started the 4th book today. This is great reading, much easier than people who haven’t read it say.

I’ve got a challenge for you.
A young man who seems to have genuinely been converted a few weeks ago asks me to help him build up a small library of Christian Books before he moves from where he is living now. Here is your challenge: what would you suggest? I am not sure of his budget, but I know it will be limited. The books will have to be in French.
Here is what I thought to get started:
- “Le voyage du Pélerin” (Pilgrim’s progress),
- “Le bon Fondement” Olivier Favre.
- “L’évangile ni plus, ni moins” Stuart Olyott (out of print, but I have a few copies).
What else would you suggest? I thought of a good Biography, or something to do with church History.
