The Jehovah’s witnesses have a hall in Guingamp. It is not far from our own building, and looks quite big. But it is hidden in a dead end, so it is not too visible. I haven’t seen any yet, where do they get people to get there?

Competition – Finding Emmanuel
I found this old school picture from when I was Jean-Baptiste’s age. I’ve got no idea what happened to the others. I can remember a few faces, but have no idea who the others are.
The game is simple, you’ve got to spot Emmanuel in the picture. Give your answers in the comments. I’ll tell you the right answer in the coming days
An update on the car
On the positive side, I know what the problem is (well, I knew but I have forgotten). On the negative side, I am not too happy:
- The garage  said they would phone in the morning and didn’t, so I had to phone them (twice…)
- The secretary didn’t know how much it would cost the first time and still doesn’t know after a second phone call.
- I still don’t know when the car will be ready.
In the meantime, we’re staying home and concentrating on the work to do: sermon prep, annual report, reading, blogging, playing angry birds…
ID please (and don’t laugh)
Car problems, it’s the clutch (again)
We had problems with the clutch in September, and we had it replaced by a new one. To my surprise, the clutch gave way again this afternoon as I was going out of a car park. The symptoms were different, so I suppose it is another problem than the previous one. I was able to park it and phoned Esther to tell her that she would have to go and fetch Jean-Baptiste to school. The smart phone was put to use and I googled to find the number of the garage. I had the car towed fairly quickly (it is a small town, and the garage wasn’t too far). I had a lift back and was able to catch up with Esther and the boys walking home from school.
The garage will let us know what the problem is tomorrow morning. We’ll probably have to repair it since we don’t have the money to buy another car. Ideally, if we could have this one until the autumn or next winter, then we might be able to consider buying something. We’ll see.
It is quite ironic. I had just been leading a Bible study on Ruth, and we had been talking a lot about Providence. Now the car is broken down…
