In the UK, Jean-Baptiste was one of the youngest in his class. He was born in July, and the school age runs from September to August. In France, the ages for a same school group goes from January to December. It means that he is no longer one of the youngest. Some children will only be 5 in december.
Hi, I just want say that reading your blog is bringing back lots of memories for me of the children starting school in France three years ago and now we are changing back to the UK system. Two of our children went from being the youngest in the UK to the middle in France, which is so much better, but now they are the youngest again. Keep up with the blog! Liz
